Traditional Art
Although I've enjoyed traditional art my whole life, my favorite way to put pencil to paper these days is in the form of personalized cards for my family and friends on birthdays and holidays. My loved ones really look forward to receiving my cards every year, which is a source of connection and joy that I deeply appreciate.
Photography
My dad gave me my first camera at age 8. I took it with me all around the world on our family travels. Surely the intent was that I'd take some great scenic photos as we traveled through Europe (which I did), but when we weren't traveling, my camera provided me with hours of fun as I photographed my house, my siblings, my toys, and anything else I could find.
Graphic Design
From drawing cartoon birds in Microsoft Paint to designing signs for church in Photoshop, graphic design is a form of art that I've always enjoyed. I took art and design classes as part of my photography degree in college, which gave me the skills to manipulate Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign, which I also frequently use for my current job at Fodor's Travel.
